Len Pagon, President and CEO of Brulant, has had a pretty good year. Make that several pretty good years. Len was just named named Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year. Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Award is the most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs. It is awarded to the most successful and innovative entrepreneurial business leaders in more than 40 countries around the globe. The awards recognize the men and women who excel at what they do -- pioneers and innovators such as Michael Dell of Dell Inc.; Pierre Omidyar of eBay, Inc.; and Jim McCann of 1-800-Flowers.com. Len was a previous finalist in 2004 and 2005, and at the 2007 banquet received the Northeast Ohio, Technology top honor. Other finalists in his category included Predictive Services and Vertex, and additional category winners included companies like Dealer Tire, Shearer's Food and Insurance.com.
Len started his company in 1989 at the age of 23. He has gone through a lot of changes in that time - following the dramatic changes in the tech industry. Today, Brulant is one of the leading interactive marketing and technology firms in the nation with amazing growth, including 100% in 2006. "While this was a significant honor for me, it is really more a recognition for our team of 300+ at Brulant, and validation of our extraordinary success in the marketplace," said Mr. Pagon. "I am most proud of the great firm we are all building together, one of the best firms in the country." As a regional winner, Mr. Pagon will go on to the annual Entrepreneur of the Year awards, to be held November 15-18 in Palm Springs, California. He will also be entered into the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Hall of Fame. Hear some of what Len had to say at a meeting of the John Carroll University Entrepreneur Association this spring.
