A lot of people would think it's a hopeless task to try and teach technical skills, even server level stuff, to inner city high school students. But Dan McMillan from Glenville High school and other dedicated people like him have proven those doubters to be wrong. The numerous success stories of these kids, when given a chance to succeed and the expectation to succeed, testify to that.
Dan McMillan runs various programs at Glenville and volunteers for Computers Assisting People. By bringing his students into the mix, they get a taste of real world business and learn some technology, and life, skills.
In this interview, Dan tells why and how he does it and shares some of his success stories.
