There's something about building your own PC. Sure, they are an inexpensive commodities but a true geek likes to pick and choose just what components go in the system and maybe save a few bucks in the process. Not to mention you have lots of "mods" to really soup up your system whether it's see-through cases, fluorescent blue fans or various blinking LEDs and meters to track performance.
While the volunteers of Computers Assisting People normally work on older systems that have been donated and refurbish them for non-profits in the community, occasionally we like to work on the latest and greatest stuff.
One of the new systems used an Intel mini-board installed in a way cool see-through case. The other was a full board Asus (the Geek loves Asus boards!) system as described below:
