I know, I know. Someone who calls himself the Great Lakes Geek and the Entreprenerd shouldn't like this product. After all, I can certainly download my own content to one of my numerous MP3 players, right? So why did I bring a Playaway title on the plane to Vegas? Because it's easy and so darned convenient that I knew that even if I was half asleep on the redeye flight home, I'd still be able to push that Playaway button and hear my book.
Christopher Celeste, Founder and President of Playaway at Showstoppers at The Wynn in Las Vegas
I've covered the Playaway in an Inside Business column but here are the basics: Playaway is a digital audio book that you can buy or get at the library. It is absolutely the easiest way to listen to content. You don't need anything else - no MP3 player, no earphones, no content. Just plug in the included earphones, press a button and the book you selected will start playing. There are a few other buttons to control volume and speed and to jump around and bookmark but it's incredibly easy to get great portable audio content.
Blake Squires, Founder and Chief Development Officer and Caroline Barni of Playaway at Digital Focus at Caesar's Palace
Another plus? They are a Northeast Ohio company. Pick up a title or check one out at the library and you will be hooked.
