Sometimes men roll their eyes when they see women following what's hot in fashion. It may be hard to believe that men's fashion trends are just as important as trends for women, even though they don't change NEARLY as often as they do for us. This makes it much easier for all you men out there because you can look good AND make smart wardrobe investments! Here are some trendier basics that you can add right now to update your wardrobe. And the good news? They will still be in style next year and the year after that as well! 1. A great way to dress up any outfit, even when wearing with jeans, is the unlined sport jacket. Whether it is in khaki or a lighter summer color such as pale blue, it looks good paired with a nice pair of pants and will help keep you warm during the cooler summer nights. 2. A good necessity to have lying around the house is a gray (or any color for that matter) zip-up sweater to throw on when you have some errands to run. Get one that is polished looking so that you can be stylish even when dressed down. 3. The Safari shirt (left) is a great look that doesn't need much else added. (Ok, you may want to add pants of course!) But you don't have to go over the top when going out for a night on the town, and this is perfect for a no-fuss occasion. 4. Slim Bermuda shorts are great looking because they are a fresh take on traditional men's shorts. While there is nothing wrong with baggier shorts, it's good to have a change and to have something that is a little classier. 5. A clean looking pair of sneakers is nice for the warm months as well. Any pair will do although it's good to have white sneakers on hand because they go with EVERYTHING (except in the office) and again, sneakers are comfortable! (Notice I didn't say dirty or grass-stained. You want them to be clean and white!) 6. Thin knits in neutral colors are another must have. You can pair them with most anything and they keep you warm or cool, depending on the outside temperatures. 7. Sunglasses are important to have; especially now when the sun is it's brightest. Having a stylish, versatile pair is a good way to finish off your overall look. Don't pick something too flashy - a classic shape pair that is good quality will do just fine.
